Pa Samuel Adedoyin, Chairman Doyin Group.
I had left school when I was in Primary 4. Whether people could earn money from teaching back then I didn’t know about it and it wasn’t my business. My mind had always been in business. We used to receive Lennard shoes mail order booklet. I wanted to go where they were producing such shoes and I wanted to be a part of it. So I tried to stow away and I was caught in Ghana. So I had to stay in Ghana for three years.
There was a little trial by error. Again, it was God’s mercy or divine directive that I went into several areas that I did. I went into property very early. I built my first property at the age of 19. But that was because I felt bad because I had lost a lot in education. The people, I knew were already lecturers at the University of Ibadan. I thought of how I would be able to cope with them. I realized the only way I could cope was to have a lot of income and have a lot of property to beat them- Pa Samuel Adedoyin.

What is your game plan?
- Making a career choice among options is a risk. Succeeding or not. The problem isn’t the idea of pursuing things you’re good at and that you love; it’s that your aspirations are too broad and difficult to act on. Follow your passion; don’t be lost in ‘passion puzzle’. Minimize risk by getting sufficient information so you won’t be flying blind.
